How and where can I find more affordable maybe second hand bikes for sale? I was thinking one that passes through Uppsala, Orebro, nearer to Lake Vanern, and on to Gothenburg.

The best place to look for used bikes is Blocket. Cheep new bikes with quality thereafter you can get at biltema. There are a few second hand places, but they mostly sell beaters, perhaps not bikes to get you to gothenburg. Even if not, it's a bit like some kind of christmas I would say, so it might be hard just stumbling upon something, so try to look something up in advance, I'm sure there must be something nice. Uppsala is worth visiting, but due to your time crunch it may not be worth it. Just depends on what you're into. If I was visiting for a short time, I'd probably hit the larger cities mostly.

Uppsala is kind of like a small version of Stockholm without tourists all over. I guess you can say It's got of a more cozy, chill and intimate feel to it compared to Stockholm.
